On 19 September Bar-Ilan University held the annual Science Night. EuroAgeism researchers, Professor Liat Ayalon and ESR Seyoung Kim took part by offering several fun-learning activities to the public related to the EuroAgeism projects:
1) True or False questions on ageing were prepared for visitors to randomly pick up questions and answer to them. Researchers explained whether and why it is true (or false) to inform the public with the facts about ageing and to make a positive influence on the visitors’ attitudes toward older adults and ageing processes.
2) Several ageist cartoons were shown, together with the definition of ageism on the screen so that people can easily see them and think about ageism.
3) Ageing booth app was adopted to make a person’s face 30 years older. This was quite effective in attracting public attention and making them think about ageing. The involved visitors were from different age groups – mostly teens, but there were also young adults, parents, and older people.
