Angela Kydd is Clinical Professor in Nursing at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, Scotland. Her Clinical background involved nursing older people in acute care and working as a care home manager. She has written and taught on gerontology courses from workshops to leading masters in later life and she supervises PhD students. She also teaches internationally and a course she wrote on specialist nursing in gerontology was adapted for use by the WHO. Angela has been involved in the creation of bespoke philosophies of care underpinning practice development with staff in nursing homes. Her PhD was focused on the experiences of older people living in a care setting. She has led several funded projects, co-edited a gerontology textbook, has over 30 publications and has recently contributed to an open online textbook on ageism.
