Stefan Hopf is an Early Stage Researcher in the EuroAgeism Innovative Training Network, PhD student at the National University Ireland Galway and staff member of AGE Platform Europe in Brussels. He received his Master degree in Sociology from the University of Vienna, where he was also employed as teaching and research assistant. In his research, he has addressed questions relating to domestic violence, the fear of crime among older people and the housing situation and housing preferences of older adults. Another research interest is the relationship between law and society. In his current research project, Stefan investigates the experiences of older adults in Ireland and Austria with age discrimination in access to services and goods. The research focuses on the question of how the different legal situations in the two countries shaped these discrimination experiences.
