Atiqur Rahman received his Master of Social Science (MSS) degree in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh and post-master’s degree in Smart Community Design and Management from University of Trento, Italy. He also has another master’s degree in clinical social work at University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. His current position is as a doctoral fellow and junior scientist at the Division Ageing and Social Change (ASC), Department of Social and Welfare Studies (ISV) at Linköping University, Sweden, from Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) within the ITN EuroAgeism and Innovation programme Horizon 2020. His research primarily concerns ageism in the care service system for people with dementia, social change and analysis the stereotypical ways of categorizing them and their abilities from a multi-level perspective. Moreover, the research topic includes social inequality and exclusion, ageing with health and disability, as well as ageing in social and physical contexts. His research expertise and interest comprise with mHealth, maternal and child healthcare, ICT4D, qualitative, quantitative and mixed method research, education and poverty related research.
