Wenqian Xu is a media economist and received his MA in Journalism and Communication from the Renmin University of China in 2017. He worked for United Nations Development Programme China office in 2017 and United Nations ESCAP in 2018. At present, He is employed as a doctoral student at Linköping University. His research interests include media sociology, media economics, health communication and communication policy. His doctoral dissertation will investigate municipal and regional Internet communication and his role in maintaining, reinforcing and challenging public images of ageing in the context of national anti-discrimination policies and individual performance.
